This AS-5500 sign is what first opened my eyes to the fact that old Telephone EXchange name phone numbers still inhabited signs and other surfaces around the city. In this case AS stands for AStoria.For I don't know how long I assumed AS-5500 was some kind of certification for this real estate company.
