IMAGES CAN BE LIKE THIS
Images can be lovely
Like a Spring Rose in full bloom
Or windswept, bold and violent
Like a midsummer monsoon
Most images are fleeting
As are dewdrops in the sun
We experience them retreating
Like wild mustangs on the run
Some images are for reflection
Others inspire us along the way
Many reveal to us how far we've come
From that eternal yesterday
But oh my friend, we play the fool
When we let an image die!
For each is unique and special
Like each star hung in the sky
Don't deny these visions
Their rightful place in time
For you will someday encounter them
As you move along the line
As our encounter fades away
Into a hopeful, confused tomorrow
I leave you with this simple thought:
Recall the pleasure, not the sorrow
