sorabji.tumblr.com is where I share images I found or which found me. Sometimes I murder them with filters, other times I leave them generally unmolested. I also share photos in the same spirit as shared by others on Tumblr.

A few years ago I binged on purchasing and scanning old slides and photos from eBay and local thrift shops. Now I have thousands upon thousands of images lifted from the memory boxes of mostly unidentifiable families and individuals. I vacillate between extremes in my feelings about this endeavor. Sometimes I feel that collecting and publicly sharing moments from random lives is immoral. Other times it seems there is virtually no risk of harm or embarrassment since the people in these pictures are all probably long gone, and their heirs (assuming they were reachable) evidently had no use for them either. I do not know how I would feel if my family slides, with pictures of me as a child, somehow washed up on someone’s Tumblr.
