\t\t\t\tsitting across from a guy who thinks he\u2018s big time famous., all over the place, household word. i looked him up once and found nothing but his own web site. he does radio for a small network but i can\u2018t remember which one, or where it is. mildly famous people who think so highly of themselves annoy me, but i was thinking about famousness yesterday when a celebrity went ape shit at the plaza hotel, crazed on crack and booze, and brack and cooze. oozing crack. at times i think i understand the point of departure between sanity and fame, or that point at which the fame becomes too big for the body, or bigger than the earthly vessel and its capacities (almost said capacititties). at this point one becomes as full of themself as possible, filled to the brim with exaltations of self and demands for attention, demands too big to be satisfied, too big for the human vessel\u2018s capacity for satisfaction.<\/p>\n
in other words, people are assholes.<\/p>\n

i have discovered Handel\u2018s piano music this week. i always suspected there was something good in there, and i was right, though the fugal writing seems clumsy and grey but the dance forms are interesting in his hands. i\u2018ve absorbed so much of Bach\u2018s dance forms in those suites that i guess i forgot there were other credible exponents. well, i never forgot, but it\u2018s easy to feel like Bach is all you need. one day i\u2018ll make a pass through the Spaniards and their dance forms. Handel\u2018s keyboard writing is a little crunchy, a little angular, but it\u2018s good quality. i can see what Richter saw in it. Sviatoslav Richter recorded the Handel keyboard music and i can feel the attraction of that Richterian strength to this music.<\/p>\n
