{"id":13378,"date":"2012-03-27T19:32:30","date_gmt":"2012-03-27T23:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsbj.com\/sorabji\/?p=2325"},"modified":"2012-03-27T19:32:30","modified_gmt":"2012-03-27T23:32:30","slug":"cheating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsbj.com\/sorabji\/2012\/03\/27\/cheating.html","title":{"rendered":"cheating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tcheating on my .MOBI charter to only use the foldable keyboard and a <br \/>\nmobile device. not really cheating though because the keyboard quit <br \/>\nworking and the phone is a piece of crap, so i&#8217;m using the netbook as <br \/>\nbackup until suitable replacements can be procured. the contract on teh <br \/>\ncurrent POS phone is up soon and i have my eye on the Samsung Galaxy Note, <br \/>\nwith a new keyboard. the Samsung would be my first-ever non-QWERTY phone, <br \/>\nsave for a short-lived flip phone i had after losing an early Treo. i <br \/>\nmight still change my mind about that phone, though.<\/p>\n<p>tired tired tired. no luck sleeping well. not eating right.<\/p>\n<p>today i ventured out to the 181 to get a bound copy of &#8220;The Etude&#8221; <br \/>\ncomplete set from 1891. it smells musty and fills my sinuses with muck. i <br \/>\nmight not be able to scan it without a facemask. seriously.<\/p>\n<p>i hauled $105 in quarters and pennies to the bank today. i started the <br \/>\nprocess of unloading my buttloads of change a few weeks ago but got lazy <br \/>\nand stopped with the dailiy deposits of about $100. i got the feeling that <br \/>\nthe tellers at the bank thought i was shady, or up to something. if i am <br \/>\nthen it&#8217;s lost on me what scheme i&#8217;m trying to pull off. i just accumulate <br \/>\nthings, and change is no exception, but now i try to decumulate.<\/p>\n<p>i might be buying a new piano. it&#8217;s not clear at the moment what i might <br \/>\nbe getting myself into as far as financing goes, or what the rest of this <br \/>\nyear&#8217;s financial future holds for me, but i should easily pass the <br \/>\ncredit-check. i tried these new pianos in December and was not mightily <br \/>\nimpressed. it&#8217;s the newer generation of Hybrid Pianos, which are <br \/>\ncombination &#8220;real&#8221; and digital. the action is claimed to be identical to a <br \/>\nconcert grand, and it seemed to live up to that claim on my brief use of <br \/>\nit. but as a digital instrument i expected more bells and whistles. those <br \/>\nthings are sometimse considered toys, but a few days spent using the organ <br \/>\nsound on my current Roland digital piano changed the way I thought of <br \/>\nBach&#8217;s keyboard music, and for the better. but there is no organ sound on <br \/>\nthe Yamaha Avant Grand. maybe it&#8217;s achievable through MIDI?
