\t\t\t\tListening back to street sounds recorded in 2010 using the old PCM-D50 field recorder. It’s interesting to me, though what to do with these sounds I do not know. Here is a full hour of noises and sounds that I think were heard under the 39th Avenue subway stop near Northern Boulevard. It’s a fairly complex interweaving of sounds, with a car horn or some kind of horn beeping sadly, what might be a buzzsaw humming, the passage of cars and buses, etc. Occasional voices. This is not binaural sound. I did not know how to do that in 2010. But I can see myself using this as an element in a multitrack piece, even if just background sounds for a recording I make at home but want to make it sound outside.
