\t\t\t\tNever let it be said that I do not suffer for my art, or in this case my cause. It is way colder out today than I expected but I stuck to it, hacking at these kiosks until I got what I wanted. It took a lot longer today, or maybe it just seemed like it. I did go ahead with getting porn on the screen, but not in the manner to which I objected yesterday. I am not going to leave it lying around on random screens for others to see. But I am going to record video of the porns as they are played on the kiosks. I don’t think there is any other way to express the vulgarity and intrusiveness that these smart city kiosks represent without resorting to vulgarity itself. That is my statement.<\/p>\n
Two people saw me pecking away at kiosks today and asked “What is that?” I was in no mood for people but I got as far as saying “Free Wi-Fi,” to which the first person said “Who the hell needs that?” The other person was more positive, but seemed as if he had no use for it himself.<\/p>\n
I guess I have become one of them, one of the loiterers. Well, so be it for now. I’m only doing this until I get what I want out of it. It has made me understand how those people do it, how they sit out there on a city sidewalk completely oblivious to the people passing by. It has my mind spinning on all cylinders, and I guess by all appearances to passing strangers I have been seemingly transfixed by these kiosks. I hear people whisper and stop talking as they approach me. I think they think I must be poor or indigent, because who else but the poor uses these things? I have to admit I have such thoughts myself when I see people next to these things, slouching against the kiosk or sprawled out on the sidewalk.<\/p>\n
