Tonight’s brief foray into the zany rabbithole of those partylines reveals that they still seems to thrive, despite the FCC’s passing last year of rules intended to close loopholes that made the people who owned the lines a lot of money.<\/p>\n
Through an old FCC ruling intended to subsidize rural telcos an ecosystem of live chat and partylines has earned its owners a few cents a minute for all the thousands upon thousands of hours of calls that pass through their services.<\/p>\n
