Vanishment of empty space is a hoax, a
\nfraud of hungry dreamers who
\nbutton down horizons.
\nThey say pictures tell the story, that
\nbooks reveal the meaning, that
\nexperience is moot and even banal.
\nTrends evolve toward contrarian humorlessness,
\npatchworks of momentum dropped by
\nalternate means of transportation:
\ntennis shoes today,
\npalms of one\u2019s hands tomorrow,
\nmovements poised for treason as
\nwinter\u2019s grim assurances creep
\nunwillingly north.<\/p>\n
These are unusual impotencies we
\ntransport from face to face. We
\nalienate the wealthy with our
\nlifestyles of contempt, filling
\nfriction with royalty stolen from
\nancient, undocumented disasters.
\nI conceal dreams risen from rainwater.
\nI restrain chipped vibrations from
\nlofting unwelcomely into conversation.<\/p>\n
Vacuums paradoxically grow,
\nincreasing like artificial horizons
\noverseen by transient politicians.
\nSirens weep with stale breezes,
\ncommunicating nothing of their intent
\nfor they have nowhere to go,
\nno crime to evict,
\nno crisis to swallow.
\nVillainy trains itself to hassle appropriate mimes,
\nmastering the ways of the victim as
\nthe sirens and their restraint are
