\t\t\t\tdang, i haven’t posted any text matter here in a while. i don’t know if
\ni’ve been busy or apathetic, but i know that the day the foldable keyboard
\nstopped working is probably the last time i posted here. i might be
\ngetting new gear, though. a new phone\/phablet and maybe a new keyboard as
\nwell. i’ve gotten used to hauling a netbook around. it’s cheap and
\nreliable but slow as hell for most things.<\/p>\n
i’m trying to travel. i’m not like most people, it seems. i don’t have any
\nreal desire to travel. i went up to niagara Falls with a friend last week.
\nwe drove in my dad’s old car, which was my car for a while before i sold
\nit to said friend. nothing weird about that, though i thought there might
\nbe. but the trip, as fun and memorable as it was, just sorta happened. i
\ndidn’t seek it out or endeavor to get out of town for any reason, and now
\nthat i’m back i’m finding it hard to maintain any desire to go anywhere
\noutside these 5 boroughs. this is a city of cities, where a subway ride
\ntakes one as far from home as a plane ride.<\/p>\n
and places are all the same, aren’t they? streets and roads, avenues and
\nboulevards, grids and maps are all essentially the same, it’s the people
\nand the innards of a city that differ… or do they? are not all beings
\nthe same at fundamental levels?<\/p>\n
i saw Garrison Keillor tonight. i knew i would leave early. it was not a
\njoyful night. it was tedious and formulaic, as i know GK to be after all
\nthese years, but it was also not really close to the Prairie Home
\nCompanion format that i more or less expected. it was alot of him singing,
\nand O i hate it so much when that guy sings. and here he was crooning with
\nthe New York Philharmonic.<\/p>\n
he was, at one time, an influential voice. i was told he was important, or
\nsomehow i was led to believe he was the F. Scott Fitzgerald for our times.
\ni’ve since come to think he is bitter and condescending, with a disdainful
\nattitude toward the subjects in his stories. he is the Hopper of American
\nstorytelling.<\/p>\n
i was just kinda curious to see his schtick in person. in the past tickets
\nto his shows in NYC have been sold out immediately, and at prices of
\nhundreds of dollars. i got this seat for $55 just 2 nights ago.<\/p>\n
he looks and sounds good for 70.<\/p>\n
he looks and sounds exactly like he did at 50.<\/p>\n
i started diving into a variety of softwares the last week or 2. i bought
\nthe adobe creative cloud, which is a subscription thing for $50\/month. i
\nwas planning to finally buy the whole CS6 thing on DVD but then i spotted
\nthis and figured it made more sense, at least for a year. my goal is to
\nmake something productive and substantive with every single application in
\nthat suite. i have accumulated raw material for so long now that i forget
\nthe time had come to actually do something with it all. raw material =
\n100,000+ pictures, over a hundred hours of audio recordings, stories
\nand writings, and a desire to make movies.<\/p>\n
i have been lazy, though, and i’ve been revelling in it, revelling in the
\nidea and the concept of laziness, and how it takes a lot of work to stay
\nlazy without being a loser. i’m still not a loser but i was on my way for
\na little while this year.<\/p>\n
