{"id":3169,"date":"2014-10-07T17:09:05","date_gmt":"2014-10-07T21:09:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/181.sorabji.com\/?p=3169"},"modified":"2021-12-27T13:45:09","modified_gmt":"2021-12-27T17:45:09","slug":"chester-west-virginia-little-blue-revisited-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsbj.com\/sorabji\/2014\/10\/07\/chester-west-virginia-little-blue-revisited-again.html","title":{"rendered":"Chester, West Virginia. &#8220;Little Blue&#8221; Revisited&#8230; Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tLook for my pictures of Little Blue at about the 1:35 point in this 10+ minute documentary made by Earthjustice. &#8220;Little Blue &#8211; A Broken Promise&#8221; explores the &#8220;toxic nightmare&#8221; that emerged when coal ash was dumped into their community.<\/p>\n<p>I first posted photos of Little Blue in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sorabji.com\/2002\/road_trip\/west_virginia\/chester\/\">2002<\/a>, and received occasional correspondence about it ever since.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently I heard from <a href=\"https:\/\/wsbj.com\/sorabji\/2014\/07\/02\/little-blue-gone.html\">Ian<\/a>, a resident of Chester, who found my site and was surprised to learn that the once beautiful looking blue lake was actually a horror story in disguise.<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks later I heard from Earthjustice with respect to using my old images of the lake while it was still neon-colored. I was happy to oblige and the 10+ minute film was released on YouTube in short order.
