I mighta got too much heat yesterday. I was checking in with an old friend and we felt fine in the shade. But later I walked and walked, as I tend to do. Probably not a good idea. It catches up to you.<\/p>\n

My routine has been to drink little water whilst out on these jaunts. It’s a pee-prevention measure, though maybe I should take more advantage of my male privilege of being able to pee easily when the urge strikes, assuming no witnesses are present and it’s done with the discretion of public masturbation. I drink way more water sitting at this desk all day compared to when I’m out in 95\u00b0 swelter.<\/p>\n

It’s been way worse in other places, of course. The freakin’ UK Air Force’s planes were unable to land or take off yesterday because the landing strips were melted into a goo.<\/p>\n

I know heat. I grew up in Florida, after all. But it feels different. A different kind of heat. It’s akin to how there are different shades of cold. The temperature can be the same but sometimes the cold is heavier than at other times. Heavier and more of a burden. A colder cold. This heat is a different kind of heat.<\/p>\n

I should probably get tested. Don’t know why I pass the testing sites without doing it. It only takes a few minutes.<\/p>\n

Here is a video I made from yesterday, looking for some payphones I’d not yet sought out since doing the video tours. The NYPL phones are pristine. One even had dust on its handset. Untouched since the Verizon era, I bet.<\/p>\n
