Pathetic, even.<\/p>\n<p>It jumped into my head today, with a demented and special-needs rhythm-and-bullshit backup, after I realized that in my morning routine I had dispensed with checking a time piece. I just knew what time it was based on quantity of sunlight, not to the minute but ballpark enough that I didn&#8217;t think about it.<\/p>\n<p>This is called\u00a0 TEMPORAL INSTINCT and it serves no legitimate use except to save my brain however many mental tics that cumulatively waste my brain.<\/p>\n<p>Check the time, check the email, check the internet&#8230; How much brain gets eaten by these little distractions, which virtually always result in no benefit, no meaningful return.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Dang, this morning blew by. I crushed a couple of Spotted Lanternflies on John Street. Someone else had crushed a third one.
