\t\t\t\tA hangup call from\u00a0646-866-9198<\/strong> came in just as I was adding\u00a0877-790-8062<\/a><\/strong> to my phone’s reject list, this after an unsolicited call from that number came through yet again. I’ve never put a phone number on\u00a0a\u00a0reject list\u00a0if that means I won’t see\u00a0any evidence that these calls came in then that would be fine.<\/p>\n

A call back to 646-866-9198<\/strong>, the number from which the day’s second apparent robocall came, leads to a Verizon wireless voicemail box. No one answers at that number. I also dialed surrounding numbers, such as 646-866-9197 and 646-866-9199, to see if this telespam had adjacent numbers that might provide identification. Nothing there, either. From my experience I can’t tell what the robots behind this number intend to sell or scam.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0few weeks ago I got a cold call from someone asking if he and his team could stop by my place and talk about my retirement planning. The call, from\u00a0732-452-6911<\/strong>, was unsettling since\u00a0the caller seemed to know a few things about me, such as\u00a0where I live and my age. The caller also seemed very casual about the inquiry, as if I should have expected the call.<\/p>\n

I firmly said “No” to his\u00a0request for an in-person meeting and never heard back. No one ever answers when you call\u00a0732-452-6911<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>Callers are sent to an Audix\u00a0voicemail\u00a0box with\u00a0no outgoing message indicating\u00a0what entity is responsible for calls made from there.<\/p>\n

I think he said he was with AXA but in the throwback feeling of receiving telemarketing calls like I did 20 years ago I was not specifically listening for details.
