One of my pear stems is gone. I stash pear stems in discreet locations around this workplace. Many or on window stools. That’s a new word I just learned. What is typically called a window sill is officially called a window stool. I will probably never refer to it as that again but there it is for now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many of my pear stem placements are on window stools but a few are stuck into crevices that define the design of the walls. One in particular I thought would outlast the dinosaurs is gone, though, and it’s puzzling. It’s a spot few people would have reason to study or scrutinize. I did, however, relish the moment I saw someone take a selfie directly in front of that location. I have no idea if she would ever be aware of the pear stem’s presence in her photo. I don’t know her at all or speak to her. I’m not even sure she still works here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But it was a strange kind of satisfaction to see one of my placements travel from its spot and into a woman’s phone and maybe onto the Internet where no one would ever notice it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But now it is gone. I looked for it on the ground but not very studiously. It’s near the security desk and that’s not a good place to looks suspicious, even if the security here is pretty slack. When I started this job I placed apple stems in certain parts of the desk frame. I would love to know if they survived the last couple of years but I don’t recall which desks I placed them at and for me to go poking around back there would look very strange. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
