I did spot her again, though only for a few seconds. She was not in the usual car, suggesting she was maybe a little late and had to get whatever seat or car she could. Or maybe she’s avoiding me. Hah. At this point I’m going on vapors that there was more than just a passing glimmer of recognition, and a deliberate return of my faux-wayward glances. Today she wore a t-shirt with a three-column design, some kind of cartoon or animated figures. She pursed her lips and, as usual, her eyes darted around, looking for things. That’s what gets me about her. The active eyes that signal an active mind. The rugged, natural beauty would be a nice bonus. I likely shan’t see her again until possibly Friday, unless I go quasi-stalker and take this early train on my days off of work. That’s not beyond possibility but I doubt I’d follow through. On the other hand, time is ticking. The tock is clicking. I’m trying to be more cognizant of the passage of time, the finite endgame when possibilities are no longer possible. I think she might possibly have seen me as she made her way to the stairs. I was quite obviously turned around and scanning the faces of people passing but I wouldn’t know if she, in that period of a few seconds, would have recognized it in that way, or at all.
