I try to avoid shitting at the workplace. I just did it, and part of the reason I avoid it transpired. I was intruded\u00a0 upon. No, no one actually opened the door and entered the stall. But someone entered the mens room as I was finishing up my necessary business. In this instance no political interactions occurred, but had this person entered a couple of minutes earlier they may have been among the cult of people who listen to the sounds of their fellow human’s defecating, groaning, exhaling, and whatever cacophony of noise the actual expulsion of the feces makes. Today’s happened to be pretty messy and noisy, a three-flush embarrassment that left streaks of shit on the surface, streaks which only disappeared after that third flush. I’ve had 4- and 5-flush embarrassments. I believe that same cult which studies the sound and experiences of others at shit additionally summarize their findings with a tally of how many flushes were performed with speculative theories as to why one flush was insufficient. The shit streaks are a likely conclusion, but anyone who shits here knows that repeat flushes are common depending how many wipes are needed, and whether you flush each wipe individually or wait for the whole wadded mess to accumulate before flushing. The former scenario involves water vapors and, presumably, fecal matter getting blown back up your ass. Or so the theory was posited during Pandemic. Shit and piss were said to be major transmittors of Covid-19 so flushing while still seated put you at risk of furthering your exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for others, I don’t really know. There are people who shit here regularly, but I do not partake of the possibly fictional cult I described earlier. I don’t listen in or make judgments. But I’ve encountered others who seem to be conscious of it, of being listened to and even judged. There have been what amounted to standoffs in the shitter, where someone entered the stall but stood still, upright, until I left the place and let him shit alone, in peace. Deliver his piece in peace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
