I don’t think Old Spice has been in my life since college. But on account of the once-beloved MITCH Heavy Hitter 2-in-1 Shampoo and Condition no longer being a viable option I had to find an alternative, and it seems Old Spice is worth a go. I had to give up on MITCH because I am not able to open the bottle. I sent a perfectly polite and pleasant letter to the makers of Mitch. The letter included the most recent pump from the last bottle I bought. In the letter I asked them to either open the pump for me and send it back, or send me another pump that is not impossible to open. I found many comments online about this issue so it’s not that I’ve become a wizened weakling. I could not even open that bottle with a wrench. Fortunately I had the presence of mind to keep the last pump I was able to open and use. But now I’ve been using it for probably 3 or more years and it’s wearing out. If the makers of MITCH can’t help me on this then it’s time to move on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the funny story I had about Old Spice comes from when I was in the 6th or 7th grade. Before the subdivision we lived in in Tampa was fully developed there was an enormous garbage dump about a half mile from the house. I used to go play in the dump, it was fun, and I would come home with random objects that probably all got thrown out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One time I came back a bottle of Old Spice after shave. I thought my dad would want to use it and, it being Father’s Day, I would present it to him as a gift. He asked where I got it and I can still hear my pre-pubescent voice proudly squeal “I GOT IT AT THE GARBAGE DUMP!” Everybody laughed and dad promptly renamed the after shave “OLD MICE.” I still laugh at that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
