Tampa, 1996."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tI&#8217;ve been rummaging through old pictures from a Canon ELPH APS film camera I used to use. APS (Advanced Photo System) was supposed to be the next big thing in film photography. Or something like that. I was an early adopter but gave up on it a few years later when digital cameras became a credible and affordable option. Tampa, 1996.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It might just be the egregiously bad day I&#8217;ve been having but looking through these and other old pictures has made me melancholy. The past is silent. I can&#8217;t have a relationship with something that cannot produce sound.<\/p>\n<p>I decided to dust off my dormant <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sorabji\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sorabji Twitter account<\/a>, strictly for my own amusement. Here is <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sorabji\/status\/777974804292993024\" target=\"_blank\">today&#8217;s Tweet<\/a> (speaking of sound). I have no memory of the story linked to in that Tweet, but I don&#8217;t think I made it up. It aligns with a time I met my friend Chris in San Francisco.
