The logic I arrived at involved that habit of buying a single slice. Shouldn’t it annoy them when the place is very busy, they are filling huge orders, and I cut in to all that commerce to buy one single slice?<\/p>\n
Maybe not. They must realize that people don’t buy full pizzas every day, nor do they order the other expensive items more than once in a while. A person who buys single slices, however, is likely to be a repeat customer, and would ultimately spend more than any individual in the place at that moment.<\/p>\n
So far DJT is doing what I expected: changing direction. I doubt if any of his signature campaign promises will come to pass, at least not in full. I did not remember him saying that the wall between Mexico and the U.S. was going to be “beautiful.” Coming from him that is rather blusterful. I think of sitting in the Trump Tower and seeing the gaudy, tacky decor for the patina of shallow elegance that it is. Already he’s saying Obamacare maybe ain’t that bad after all. The dude is not stupid, he just did what he had to do to get elected. The reality is nobody knows what agenda he is going to face, what crises, and what circumstance. Nobody really even foresaw Obamacare as being a signature initiative when O was elected.<\/p>\n
I actually think this will be a boring presidency, in the spirit of Jesse Ventura’s passable but uneventful governership of Minnesota. If it is not a boring presidency than I think it will be boring to DT, at least at first. I remember hearing that Bloomberg did not really like being mayor at first. So much bureaucracy and dirty work of picking up the trash and plowing the streets. He was used to more swashbuckling pursuits. I cannot imagine DJT ever getting used to Secret Service protection.<\/p>\n
I think less about what DJT will do as president and more about the uprising of hate that feels free to rub it in to the perceived losers. Nobody is really a loser. Yet. If DJT tears down America we will all be losers. Can you imagine a civil war, or the coastal states seceding?<\/p>\n
Probably not. I think the fundamentals of democracy are too deeply ingrained in our processes. 9\/11 actually had more capacity to vanquish our union than a Trump presidency. Had the plane that hit the Pentagon actually done what was planned, and flew into the Capitol building, that would have brought us close to Game Over.<\/p>\n
And you know, as I’ve said before, I can understand the enthusiasm for the guy. There is a population out that thinks it is awesome that anybody can grow up and be president. I think that is a hollow point of view but it is out there and I can at least see where it comes from. I don’t think those voters have any idea what to expect of their president, though.<\/p>\n
The cabinet is shaping up as a house of horrors. Chris Christie. Giuliani. Ichann. I won’t be surprised if Dick Cheney returns. I wonder if Bloomberg would be enlisted? I remember the suggestion that he would be Secretary of State in a Clinton administration was laughed at.<\/p>\n
