\t\t\t\t What a strange phone call. I\u2019m not going to rewrite the whole story, which I already posted to \/yo. But I will add that I figured out exactly who the person is that made the call. She is 78 years old and the office manager at a lower Manhattan law firm. How she could have made that call is baffling, but I guess it\u2019s not without precedent. Years ago I got occasional e-mails from people who thought I had something to do with a display advertising company. I think the company was called Vista. At the time if you did a web search for Vista Billboards (or something like that) the first thing that came up was one of my pictures of a billboard with that name on it. That\u2019s all it was, just a picture of a Vista-branded billboard. Armed with that search result I would get the most random seeming correspondences from people complaining about some sign somewhere, or asking about advertising rates. The messages all seemed to come from California.<\/p>\n
\n It\u2019s amazing, though it should not be, how long it takes me to write a seemingly simple story like that. It\u2019s not just the story. you gotta link things up and add pictures, and of course WordPress gets in the way of things with its inexplicable \u201cHTTP ERROR\u201d that prevents me from doing something to unusual as UPLOADING AN IMAGE TO MY WEB SITE.<\/p>\n
\n But the process reminds me just how much I feel like I am drowning in myself, drowning in my own life. So many things I should do but never in a lifetime of lifetimes would there be enough time. And then there is my laziness. I don\u2019t know what to do. <\/p>\n

\n At the ghetto coffee shop, where it is too noisy to concentrate. Forgot my damn headphones.<\/p>\n

\n Later in the day. At a pub. Still thinking about the strange Parc Lincoln inquiry. Bumped into a friend who says I should call the woman back. I don\u2019t know. Could just be a hassle. Bartender here says maybe someone there left me some money. Hah. I never knew anyone there. Closest thing I had to a friend at the Crap Lincoln was the elderly woman who lived in 417. She would repeatedly get off the elevator on the wrong floor and try to open the door to my room, which was 317. 317 probably does not even exist anymore. If it does it was probably converted to a storage closet. <\/p>\n
\n Hmm\u2026 feeling oddly malignant today. All day. Like something is growing inside me. Growing and yet imploding. Expanding my presence, FABULOSO style, and yet vacuuming me away. <\/p>\n
