She sounded troubled, even diseased. But also full of lies and distortions. That is acceptable up to a point in the murky world of online dating but after about 10 days of attempts at initiating conversation it felt like I was feeding a chatbot.

might switch themes for the payphone site today. I never liked the one I use now, but it’s passable. I need a full-width theme to accommodate the images from a previous layout that are too wide for the current look. Not that anybody actually reads that shit.

I got shorts that fit and they are driving me crazy. I have gotten used to short and pants of excess size, to accommodate my… excess. But they look slovenly and slobbish. So I am trying to represent myself as a more dapper individual who wears pants that fit. It sucks.

I slept on the couch last night. I don’t think I’ve ever done that. It just kinda happened. I watched a blah movie called “After Dark, My Sweet” all the way to the end. Rachel Ward was amazingly unattractive and the premises too hard to believe. Reviews kept making it sound like a film that would gain traction over time but I don’t see how. The most amusing thing to me was the iron. The film was released in 1990, which would be about the time I attempted to buy a clothes iron at Macy’s. It was a memorable attempt. I put the iron on the checkout counter. The cashier picked it up and looked at it. She put it under her arm and walked off to parts unknown. i think she went to the employee break room but I don’t know. i waited about 10 minutes. That was the last I saw of that iron, or the cashier. I wrote a letter to Macy’s describing the experience, and how I walked across the street to some no-name electronics shop which happened to sell irons. I got that exact iron for about $20 less, and I was able to purchase it IMMEDIATELY. I did not have to wait for the cashier to confiscate the iron and disappear. Macy’s replied with a letter saying they took my concerns seriously.

Anyway, the point being, the movie I sat through was made around the time I purchased that iron, which should still be somewhere around here in a closet or wherever. That exact iron appeared in the movie, just as a passing prop. Quite amusing to one as easily amused as I.

I am at home, rummaging through a stash of old .WAV files I have no memory of creating. It is me talking to myself 7 years ago. It is me being ambitious about being a radio/podcast person with something to say and a voice with which to say it. And my piano music is playing in the distance. it’s not bad, and should be passable once I edit out the UMs and UHs.

OH MY it is a beautiful day.

So I blocked the number of the abuse victim, cancelled the dating web site accounts, and uninstalled the swipe-right apps.
