\t\t\t\tIt’s this crazy weather we’ve been having:
\nFalling forward one minute, lying down the next
\nAmong the loose grasses and soft, white, nameless flowers.
\nPeople have been making a garment out of it,
\nStitching the white lilacs together with lightning
\nAt some anonymous crossroads. The sky calls
\nTo the deaf earth. The proverbial disarray
\nOf morning corrects itself as you stand up.
\nYou are wearing a text. The lines
\nDroop to your shoelaces and I shall never want or need
\nAny other literature than this poetry of mud
\nAnd ambitious reminiscences of times when it came easily
\nThrough the then woods and ploughed fields and had
\nA simple unconscious dignity we can never hope to
\nApproximate now except in narrow ravines nobody
\nWill inspect where some late sample of the rare
\nUninteresting specimen might still be putting out shoots, for
\n\tall we know.<\/p>\n
