I spotted this EVergreen.6-4343 number at the Queens Instrument Company at 62-15 Fresh Pond Road in Flushing. In today's parlance the number would be (718) 386-4343.

    Love your photos! I'm completely fascinated by these photos, and the old phone codes. I live in Glendale, Queens, and enjoy NYC history tremendously.

    One note: 62-17 Fresh Pond isn't in Flushing; it's Middle Village.

    You know, I thought of that while I was there that day. You obviously know the area better than I, but my sense of things was that I was still in Middle Village. But when I looked up the business name and address, though, every web site listing I found for it said it was in Flushing. Proving, once again, that you can't count on the Internet for anything accurate.
