Can you see the EMpire phone exchange in this picture? I can, but one needs to stand at just the right angle to see the old phone number lurking almost invisibly in plain sight. From across the street or from any other angle this phone number is virtually impossible to see but at this angle, and with just slight image enhancement, it becomes clear that an air conditioner company once occupied this space, and was reachable at EMpire-1-1818.
