I don't remember a whole lot about this Winnebago, or which precise model we had, but in 1972 the family drove cross country from Virginia to San Francisco, then on to Laos. I guess we rented this vehicle. I was only 4. My clearest memory is of looking out the back window and seeing our suitcases and containers tumbling off the roof of the vehicle and onto the highway behind us. I think was somewhere in Texas. I went up front and asked my parents if all our stuff was supposed to be flying all over the place. I don't know how long it took to go back and get all our stuff but that is what we did. This brochure is very 1970s-looking, with a provocative shot of what could be a teenage girl sitting on the bed. I can't tell is she's the same person seen driving the Winnebago in another shot. The cover photo appears to be from Pueblo, Colorado, which was one of our stops on this journey. I only remember it from pictures. I also have a foggy memory of arriving in Las Vegas and feigning embarrassment when my mother stepped out of the van with curlers in her hair. I converted most of the text from this brochure using ABBYY Finereader.
