The Moonraker.
The Moonraker, docked across from the Adirondack II, was an object of fascination to some of us. It is a private boat. I mistakenly associated the word "Moonraker" with James Bond film "Goldfinger," and I found myself singing the Shirley Bassey song by that name, replacing the word "Goldfinger" with "Moonraker." It sounded good in my mind.

The captain asked us where we were visiting from. We said "Nowhere." She indicated that this particular trip was populated by a large tour group from overseas. This, apparently, is them.

I spotted this old sign on June 25, 2011. It was my first new sighting of a Telephone Exchange Name since 2010. I was starting to think I had seem them all already.

I saw another copy of this sign last year (click here), but that sign was worn out and partly unreadable. This sign for Griff's Fence Company, at DAvenport 6-2888 in Maspeth, is fully intact.
