what what.

had a fun if unproductive day, wasted walking to upper Astoria. a friend texted to say she saw a bag full of old slides on a sidewalk outside a church. i sprung into action to pounce on what could have been a gold mine. i imagined decades of rare NYC imagery in a bag full of righteously maintained kodachrome slides, but alas, all to be found was what looked like slides that accompanied church sermons, sort of like a Power Point presentation, but with slides. i don’t really collect those type of slides, and in fact i don’t collect slides very aggressively at all any more, unless they are obviously interesting.

was a bedraggled and sodden day. no good news, no bad, news, but the work of life seems to have paid off by day’s end. i think i found a payphone story worthy of the payphone’s cultural esteem of the moment. i found a payphone that had a notice on it saying that you could dial *22 for access to news, sports, weather, stock prices, etc. it was amazing, really, such an awesome free call from a payphone. too bad it was under the subway, where the roar of the trains browned out the sound of the phone call.

anyway, it’s an interesting little scandal of disenfranchisement. i’ll sort out my notes tomorrow. i have the day off tomorrow (huh huh, i have the day off every bleepin’ day).

this unstructured life would be more interesting without alcohol, would it not?
