thinking about yesterday’s triumphs i begin to think i may have crossed the line with somebody. it was unintentional if it happened, and i guess it’s of no concern now. but i’m glad i did if it helps bring attention to a certain matter i’ve had in mind since yesterday. is that vague enough?

i saw a dangerous woman yesterday. on the subway. beautiful woman, golden face and mouth but hands and feet of a texture that revealed her real age. she may have looked 28 in her face but i think she was closer to 40 if the texture of the skin on her extremities is any clue.
on the subway, the very crowded subway, she found a seat and, upon sitting down, took both her shoes off, revealing those strangely intimate-yet-not-private body parts.
her shoes came off and her eyes looked toward me. she wanted a reaction, a reflect action, a randy tic of, fetishistic acknowledgement. she probably gets a lot of cock this way, and her demeanor, by my interpretation, left little room for doubt that she worked the subways as part of her daily routine, but she was not a professional. just a very sexual woman. nothing wrong with that but that it’s dangerous to my emotional balance to get involved with sort of thing.

i saw another odd thing yesterday. on the Brooklyn Bridge a guy on a bicycle came racing over absolutely bellowing obscenities into the hazy spring air. i thought he was dangerous. i thought he was homicidal. i honestly thought he was either going to start running people down or else he might find a way to hurl himself into the river.
then i realized he was just another obscenity-spewing bicyclist, the sort of character whose foul invective hurled at strangers convinces me that i will never ride a bike in this town. i just don’t have the anger. i was thinking of roller-blading, though.
the thing about this guy was that he was sort of a coward about it. spraying invective skyward he could not confront the issue decently or directly, instead choosing to ride off into a sunset of pathetic vitriol.

tomorrow i chase another payphone. another rotary that might still be hanging around on a wall in Manhattan.
…..
new mobile device coming to SorabjiLand. probably a Galaxy Nexus, i forget the exact name but it’s the one with the 5.3″ screen and 8mp camera. whoot.
…..
today i got to spend some time in home confinement whilst waiting for the Time-Warner Cable repair dudes to show up. They were actually there pretty early in the 4-hour time window, and they appeared to be fully competent, quickly fixing the problem and going yard by doing some posisbly needless switching of the cable itself.
the cable hadn’t worked since last week, when an impenetrable “not authorized for service” message appeared on the screen. all efforts nad techniques could not fix the problem, so i had to wait a week for an appointment.
to make already-annoying matters more annoying Time-Warner pestered me every single day with robocalls to remind me of the upcoming service appointment. one of these calls seems to have foiled an attempt to send an e-mail from this phone, and all of these obnoxious calls produced useless voicemail messages.

i bought a new computer, for delivery next week. it’s a beast, with all the souped-up extravegances I so demand. this is, i believe, the last computer of this type i will ever buy. it’s a phat desktop with what will eventually be 3 2TB hard drives, 4 or 5 monitors, all the software in the world, and built-in redundancies that should save my ass in the event of catastrophic phailure.
at the end of the day, though, it’s still a computer, and the lowly end-user is always its bitch.
i think this will be the last all-in-one centerpiece type of computer i ever get. the cloud and other buzzword approaches will lead me to slimmer clients, even as slim as a mobile device like the one i’m using right now. i think that these things will eventually come with foldable screens, making a 15″ display and a foldable keyboard like the one i’m using now fittable into a back pocket.
