Looks like the sidewalk will be trimmed on both sides and the vehicular traffic lanes left almost at their current widths.
I have said since I moved here in 1990 and got plowed down by a pizza delivery guy illegally biking on a sidewalk, before biking became a lobbying cult: You could not pay me enough money to risk my life biking in this town.
A bicyclist on a highway (such as the nearby Northern Boulevard) is like a toothpick on a tidal wave, dangerously and delusionally gliding among creatures hundreds of times their size under the debatable notion that they are sacrificing their bodies in the interest of “calming traffic” or (worse) the utterly indefensible notion that they are “saving the planet”.
I will never ride a bike in this town because of the hipsterly and Bloombergian propaganda associations.
I might buy a pair of Heelys, though. Or a skateboard.
