I felt like a kid in a candy store today, finding PRAY at seemingly every turn, and even spotting her in retrospect, in pictures I took without even noticing she was there until I looked at the photos later. That’s her subliminal æsthetic, which plays itself out to varying degrees of subtlety. Seeing her in some pictures from today without knowing she was there as I took the pictures underlines what I find to be her most enduring quality: She is right there in front of us but how many have eyes to see, and OF those who do who would choose to see this, and who would choose to dismiss it without comment?

This particular shot is pretty clear but others from today are not. What an intriguing hunt. It cannot fail to raise the question, as always: Who was she? For another question, who is SIKE, who possibly crossed out part of PRAY’s “THANK GOD”. There is a spray paint artist by that name but I don’t know of his scratchiti, until now.
