OK, that posting made no sense without context. I’ve been reading The Hour Of Our Death and this was a quote from that book, where “God” was misspelled “Cod”, and this was not in the context of a burial at sea. Just another ePub type which is probably not present in the printed edition, but I can’t check on that since I got rid of that weighty tome upon procuring the ePub version. I’d never shared a chunk of text from something I was reading on an eReader, so now I know that’s how it looks. Hah.
