Back at this nice little coffee shop, doing some combat with this increasingly recalcitrant yet simultaneously jumpy keyboard. Some keys require a dozen pecks before they produce a letter, others I barely touch and they spew out a dozen repeated letters. This short paragraph required more use of the backspace key than of all the actual letters combined.

I am thiinking of a lot of things lately. Good things, interesting things, mundane things. Things are good, though. All good things. Well, mostly good. Hah.

I might combine this Treo/mobile thing with the other things I do here. Most of the time if something new goes up on this web site it is basically invisible. I don’t have a “new” fetish nor do I imagine this mountainous sprawl of stuff I crank out is meant to be chronological. I think I might be strange about these things but cultural norms of temporality and continuity seem frivolous to me. I remember a teacher in high school commenting for some reason that ‘friends can’t be friends if they don’t do things together.” I never followed up on the matter with that teacher but it jumped out at me as something not necessarily as true as it apparent obviousness would suggest. The logic seemed to break down too easily for his pronouncement to be unassailable.

That teacher might be surprised to know I am still chewing on that offhand comment he made so long ago.
