Remembering for no particular reason how creativity is among the most over rated qualities in human discourse. In most circumstances the individual who “thinks outside of the box” and comes up with “innovative thinking” that “bends the rules” is an incorrigible nuisance, and a pain in the ass. I think a manifestation of this fact could be found in the television comedy series “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” There is a bit where Colom Machrie (no way is that spelled right) plays a film director, and he peppers the other players (who are the actors) with ridiculous scenarios. The players do as instructed and the results are ludicrous, which works well enough in the context of a comedy skit but in reality that type of thinking and its consequences are all too real.
