Another media inquiry has me both interested and skeptical. It’s from Canada, and I happen to have a reasonably prescient point of view on the matter of pulic telephones in that country. I might just take a pass, though, having already said that I am probably interested.

A job opening at NY Public Radio seems interesting. Web producer for classical radio content. It’s been a long time since I worked in profesisonal radio, and I am glad for never pursuing a real career in that direction, but web work would be different, if only for a change of scenery.

Crazy complicated dream last night in which I returned to college. As in many of my current dreamscapes i found that my belongings were being stolen. I had a suitcase with sheets and blnkets. I left it unattended for several minutes and returned to find it had been ransacked, but i could not tell what, if anything, had been stolen. Al Pacino was there but i have no idea why. Large crowds of people in a stadium seemed to be my bedfellows. I had to sleep with them, among them, maybe getting fucked by them all. I found myself in a car, riding in the passenger seat, talking on a payphone installed on the dashboard. The novelty of this phone was that you paid by mileage. I think it was a dollar per mile for the first mile, then 25cents per mile thereafter, with some mileage bonuses thrown in. Lacking any practical reality value I at least felt that it seemed like a valid novelty in the context of the dream.

Changing weather and changing clothes makes me both melancholy and amazingly alert. Anger seems particularly ridiculous in beautiful weather, as I noted while observing an angry bicyclist bark out orders at a pedestrian who appeared to be absolutely nothing wrong. I’m seeing fewer and fewer bikes, though, so maybe the fetishistic fad is abating.
