It’s kinda sad when Yahoo Mail just can’t do it. It took several minutes for this screen to appear, as an e-mail service I’ve used for something like 20 years seemed to huff and puff in its effort to open a freakin’ e-mail. Nothing was amiss with the Internet connection, as other sites worked fine during this time.
Yahoo Mail has steadily and depressingly let me down as time has passed. For years now I’ve had no option to enable display of images from trusted sources. For some reason this feature was taken away from me and apparently only me, as no one in the support forums (which Yahoo itself ignores) could replicate.
I attempted to reroute sorabji.com email to Yahoo, anticipating that its spam filters would be better than mine. SpamAssassin had worked well here for years until one day it was letting through all the worst garbage spam you could think of.
Alas, Yahoo’s spam filters failed to catch any of that crap, letting the most obvious spam you could imagine sail through to the inbox.
It’s the sort of thing that I would try to contact Yahoo about if I thought my inquiry made a damn bit of difference. I considered writing and delivering by postal mail an inquiry about this but I don’t think Yahoo has sufficient resources available to fix these problems, even for paying customers.
