I did not expect this place to be opened but here it is, lookong pretty busy too. I’m looking at the snow pour down. it is every bit as rude as the coverage has made it sound. The wind especially. A travel ban is on, though I saw one minivan just now as I made the short walk over. A fair number of people out and about walking. With no cars I think it’s not so dangerous if you are able to maintain balance. Remembering those tiresome days of having a car and having to dig it out. watching someone do that right now, through this window looking out at the winter wonderland. The video of flooding in NJ was scary. Not quite apocalyptic but scary anyway.

I had hoped to make this a day of nothing but writing but I cannot seem to get anything going on in that department. Instead I sat at the piano. Instead of creating I re-created the music of others. Stupid. Still plenty of day left, though, and no reason to go anywhere.

Thinking about the high school reunion emails, and how I’m an outsider looking in having been more or less accidentally added to this mailing list, tis on account of corresponding years ago with the person who seems to be a leading fore in organizing the reunion. All i can think is “Who are these people? Their names so familiar but the faces and identities changed since the 1980s. Why are we in a correspondence? Why do we care about each other? It’s like extended family. 3rd cousins twice removed. Who the fuck cares? I admit that I am something of a genealogical sociopath, though, with no signs of changing that character trait.

Bloomberg might run for president. I’ve only started paying much attention to the presidential race, which seems to get longer and longer every time. As much as I loathed Bloomberg for illegally purchasing a third term and for other vulgar defecations of wealth I think he’d make a damn fine alternative to anybody else out there. Trump becomes scarier and scarier, Hillary as president would result in some seriously fucked up shit happening, shit that would make the Lewinsky stuff look like nonsense (which it kinda was). Bloomberg is 73, which i think would make him the oldest elected president. Reagan was 72 when elected. But Bloomberg’s mother lived to over 100 so he comes from good stock.

It would be Bloomberg’s revenge of sorts. His loathing for Trump is legend, at least in my mind.
