Since last I looked for it the archive of now defunct newspaper The Tampa Tribune has since turned up at newspapers.com. This means I get to look for the story I referenced back in May, reporting the death of Stacie Sierra and others in a ghastly plane crash over Molino, Florida. It is not quite as elegiac as I remember, and in fact it makes me think there must have been another story about this because I pretty clearly remembered a good-sized picture of Stacie in one of these pieces. But it remains poignant for me to once again see names of priests and the kids I knew from school thrust into the roles of funeral service officiants and pallbearers for one of their own. It was an early life lesson in how lives can change in an instant, with no way to change them back. I was not particularly in a mood to look for this but, well, it was there. Now that the Tribune is online I’m also going to scout out the story that featured me playing piano at a soup kitchen.
