a sense of schadenfreude in me is piqued to see the empty seats behind home plate at Yankee Stadium. all those empty, absurdly expensive seats that force real baseball fans to their home couches while stupidly wealthy shoot their corporate bloat on gluttonous, conspicuously public spending.
that is not how the rich stay rich. i think that section of Yankee Stadium will earn some derisive nickname that will become synonymous with this age of preposterous salaries and a game’s over-inflated sense of importance.
