This is just something I felt like doing. Rummaging through my file cabinets in a bottomless attempt to get my paperwork in order I found this 1995 picture of the bathroom sink from my upper east side apartment. Every object, it seemed, had a story underneath it. I set this picture up so you could point your mouse at some of the objects and see the story. This was fun but my arms are weak from typing. I may circle back on this image and fill in the stories behind the rest of the objects.
Looks like your aftershave of choice is Skin Burn! (Skin Bond? Skin Bazar?) I don’t understand why dudes wear aftershave- it just makes them smell like my grandpa. Maybe they think my grandpa is sexy and gets lots of ladies. (FYI- Not sexy. No ladies.)
Skin Bracer!
When I shaved with a razor I used aftershave because it’s mostly alcohol and so it sterilized all those little nicks and cuts. It also felt good. When I got an electric I thought I’d quit using after shave but I still use it. Not much has changed in after shave. Skin Bracer, Aqua Velva, one or two of which I forget what else, and store brands are the only products I think I’ve ever seen in all my manly days of colognes and after shaves. When I first got the electric razor I used stuff called Face Saver, which padded my face with powdery stuff to soften the shock of using an electric for the first time, preventing my precious face from looking like hamburger.
I happen to like the smell of “Grandpa”.
In reply to wondering why people would open both ends, in order for beer to leave the container, air must replace it. If the fluid covered the opening, no beer would be able to get out, because nothing would replace it. In the openings now, the beer has a large enough access to the hole that the air can always displace it and go in while the beer leaves, but in a small enough hole, the air cannot replace the liquid that leaves, which makes either the can suck into itself or the beer inside not leave. Obviously the much stronger can will not crush itself and the mere liquid will not be able to leave.
I doubt that you’ll read this comment, but if you do, I hope it answers your question without you having to sign up for beercannews.
