I shot 30-something photos on a roll of old, old film. I knew the film had expired as many as 10 years ago but I was still bummed when the prints came back from developing. They were dark and dim, though one or two of the prints had ghostly appeal.

I should not have given those prints much heed, though. Generated by an assembly-line developing process I stashed the adventurelessly-produced prints back in the envelope and worked with the negatives, digitizing them with a film scanner before the next step, which will be to revive the old darkroom gear sitting dormant in my kitchen. I don’t know when that will happen but the darkroom endeavor is another of my long-intended projects that I sense will come to fruition soon.

Some would call these prints a noisy mess, and some do feel like they rose up from the 12th century, or at least from mid-20th-century newsreels. An afternoon of re-touching could have them looking almost respectable, but I like them as they are. Here are a few. I shall add these and some others to the Film Photography section later on.
