i got another long-plannedsite in gear today, with 4 pieces of a planned infinite supply. well, not infinite, but something like it. i dont know how much i want to give away to the internet any more, but i can drip outlines and bullet points out there. it feels strange, posting to the public internet again, after some months away. at first it felt stupid, and indeed, it still does. i am reminded of a certain radio personality blowhole who, in a moment of non-political hate-baiting talked instead about the business of radio, or the demographics of who listens versus who calls in to a radio show to say anything. according to the loudmouth blowhole’s math, he estimated that a fraction of 1% of his listenind audience would even *consider* calling in to say something on a show like his, and of that fraction of 1% barely a fraction of 1% of them would actually do it, would actually call a radio talk show, regardless if it was national or local or global. why did i think of htis? oh, right, because i think there must be a similar ratio of consumption versus production, or consumption versus those who choose to self-publish or speak out in any way through online services. and i think of that now as i commence doing it again, and as i feel a little ridiculous on account of it.
anyway, the new site is going to work out fine. it looks clean and bewildering in its way. no explanations, no excuses.
i continue to ignore media requests, a new policy which i fear might actually be planting seeds of annoyance out there in the newsosphere, seeds which might bite me some day. but i just don’t want to talk to reporters any more. there is no value in it for me.
the other site should commence tomorrow, though i have way more work to do on that one before it has any credible presence. the site today was partly new and partly content resurrected from the crashed server blowout of november. i discovered that some SQL crap that i thought was impenetrable actually had a simple point & click solution. the next site on the docket depends on months worth of scans i did last year. and i recently resumed work on hte old magazines project. sooooo, i’m keeping busy, is what i mean to say. tax season is past and i can put all hands on deck… er, both hands on deck.
