Out walking, on a 70 degree day. Indian summer they call it. Native American summer these days. Not sleeping real well these days, and I am really feeling it.. I am in Woodside headed toward Skillman Avenue.

I am on 58th lane, I sort of obscure side street. I was on this street years ago and remember it for being filthy, overgrown, and covered with dogshit. I would not characterize it that way now but there are still some vestiges of that overgrowth at least on a certain stretch of sidewalk. It has been shaved clean. I just randomly spotted the geographic center of New York City, in the middle of Queens Boulevard. I wonder if they would have put the marker on the actual street if that was where the center really was. Or if they planned the street with the intent of keeping the geographic center memorialized.

I am on 2nd Avenue and 58th street, this area feels like it is frozen in the 1970s. There is a big police compound and a Department of Sanitation repair center. I have been here before but do not remember going down this particular street. Was considering going to the big Jewish cemetery but not really feeling it interest right now. Then again I think I see it straight ahead so maybe I will check in any way. Big ugly buildings here.

Actually I was on 52nd road. 52nd Avenue. Now I am on 52nd Avenue Street. Not picking in Jersey call police and city buildings, they might think I am terrorist.

I just found 41st drive. I had forgotten about this street. I think this is my favorite street in Queens. It is very compact, and all the houses are identical. Every other house that is. It is what I think streets look like in that book a wrinkle in time. Overly happy that I found that street today. It is so different from the rest, that is why I like it. I could never remember where it was exactly but it crosses my mind once in awhile.
