I did not have a good camera on me, which is both inexcusable and unfortunate, but I had a tablet device with which I managed to capture this grainy image of a tow truck showing an old-style telephone exchange name formatted phone number on its side.

That style of phone number was phased out decades ago. On account of that a sighting of such a phone number usually indicates that the signage is quite old. Other times, however, the old-style format is used in the spirit of nostalgia. I doubt this truck has been tooling around New York since the 1960s, when exchange name formatted numbers were officially phased out.

My legitimate sightings of decades-old JAmaica exchange phone numbers include Cinelli Carting and Brancato Iron Works.
