I thought I had deactivated Facebook but, as has happened before, I somehow got left out there, this time unaware I was receiving messages. It seems that when you deactivate now they do not deactivate the Messenger app. They don’t tell you this unless you happen to check Messenger for some reason or, in my case, I looked at a device I had not used in a while and found that Messenger was still activated on it. They seem to think they are doing you a favor but I found it entirely annoying and intrusive.
