I had not sold a domain name in over 20 years. I won’t say which one, and the net amount of money is not even worth bragging about. But I’ll take what is basically free money.

The website at this particular domain did pretty well in its own right, making enough money from ads to more than cover the costs of annual registration and web hosting. As much as anything I am interested to see what the buyer has in mind for their new URL.

Long ago, on an Internet far, far away, I sold a domain name for $7,500. At the time I had not actively solicited it or any of my domains for sale. Someone contacted me on their own volition.

I don’t know if the days of domains selling for thousands of dollars have truly passed. It’s gotten to a point where any two words with a dot between them could be considered a domain name.

I’ll shaddup now.
