Just a springtime jaunt to Old Calvary en route to the relatively new Kosciuszko Bridge and its pedestrian/bike path. Unlike other bridges in NYC, which can feel rickety and shaky from the force of vehicular traffic, the Kosciuszko feels like solid ground. Its predecessor was also shaky as hell. I believe the Kosciuszko to be the only bridge in town designed from the start with coexistence of bikes and pedestrians in mind. The old Kosciuszko had no pedestrian path at all. Given the disuse of this one it remains to be seen if they don’t just turn it into another vehicle lane.
