Today, exquisitely, pathfinder.com sends you to a 404 page not found error at Meredith, the company that acquired Time Inc. a few years ago. In addition to the magazines they also picked up what must be among the most valuable portfolio of .COM domain names owned by one entity: TIME, LIFE, MONEY, SI, PEOPLE, EW, FORTUNE, and maybe others I’m not remembering. Then again, given that there is virtually no chance Meredith would sell those domains, their value is kind of meaningless, isn’t it… The only of these I don’t think Time Inc. picked up originally was Life.com. That used to go to the website of a software company, LifeTime Software Technologies.
