Today had all the makings of a colossal fuckup. Fortunately it ended up just fine. I thought we were supposed to show up for work at an alternative location today, in Brooklyn. Turns out that doesn’t happen until next week. The way they kept hyping it yesterday made me feel like it must be happening tomorrow, why else would it seem so urgent now?

Discovered I was at the wrong place but felt reasonably reasonable I had enough time to get mack to Lower Manhattan from the Jay Street Metrotech area in BK. But then I got on the wrong train. Thought it was an R to Manhattan but I had just missed that one and ended up taking this R to the Barclay Center, where I made the somewhat misbegotten decision to transfer to a 2/3 train. It’s a longass walk from the R to the 2/3 but I figured it was worth it since the 2/3 stop at Fulton Street is a lot closer to the office than the R station way over on Courtlandt.

Long story short I made it from BK to MN with about 20 minutes to spare. It’s the closest I’ve come to being late since taking this job. I have a severe allergy to lateness, whether it’s me or someone else.

This was a fascinating read, wasn’t it?
