my web server went awol today, unreachable to the internet with 100% packet loss by ping from remote server. it’s not my primary server so it’s not all bbad but man this shit’s annoying. i’ve been with OLM for something like 20 years.outages happen but there is always a sense that i am OLM’s last customer and that the place is run dystopian style, as with so many other businesses of late. i was on hold for 40 minutes before realizing i’d been on hold for 40 minutes. an announcement that a “brief portion” of the network was experiencing outages sounded like a permanent sticky announcement that is played no matter what is happening, to deter anyone from trying too hard to contact a human. the announcement further says to waatch support.olm.com for network sttus updates but that site says the network is normal. so fuck. if chinese hackers have zapped me again then i’m screwed badly at a time when i am better logistically prepared than at other times to deal with it but at a time when i am emotionally close to the brink, and feeling unhinged enough to just say fuck it all and go homeless. at a coffee shop. rain is coming, but mostly to long island. hot in here. no a/c. sweating like a pig… do pigs sweat? i like the cleansing feel of a good hot sweat bbut it looks a little odd in public.  with server out i would be emailing this missive into a black hole from whence it might never emerge. think i should go home, rain coming in sounds nasty even if i’m basically just across the street frp, apartment.
